[Thistle's in a bad mood, not that it'd be easy to tell one of her bad moods from her good moods. She's lounging in an armchair in the study and sharpening a throwing knife. When she's satisfied, she flings it at the entrance.
Should you happen to walk in at this moment, this will probably sail uncomfortably close to your head and land with a loud thwack as it's embedded in the door frame.]

...oh. You.
She takes another knife from her jacket and begins sharpening it. Maybe with her next throw she can lop off one of your batwings. :'>]

Having fun?

I was.
[There's a collection of gashes in the wall and door frame from earlier tosses. She only has three throwing knives, so she has to get up and collect them whenever she runs out. it's a lot of work :( ]

You've certainly been busy.

I suppose you really are human.

Now, perhaps.
Powerless as I might be, I would rather be mortal than a servant.

I did not get much of a choice in the matter.
[She narrows her eyes slightly. Your world is confusing >:T]
Magic, in my experience, is not powered by song so much as blood and suffering.
no subject
Ha. Well. People will always find a way to bring blood and suffering into the equation.

True enough.
[She turns her attention back to sharpening her knife.]
I take it you had nothing like the Millennium Items in your continuum.

Then you are alike in superficial appearance only.
They were magical items created to give the powers of the gods to mere men.
[She examines her knife, nonchalant.]
I almost managed to destroy the world twice with their combined power.
[SOFT WISTFUL SIGH]

It's difficult to get a satisfactory revenge when everyone responsible died in a fallen empire centuries ago.
[She sinks into her chair.]
You're lucky to not know what they are.

Am I?
no subject
Were it not for them, I would've lived and died a normal, unremarkable life in Egypt long ago.
If a mechanical being can even understand the desire for such a thing.

Artificial, if nothing else.
