ONGOING EVENT THEME OR WHATEVER
[When you wake up this morning, the mansion looks considerably... spookier.
The walls seem creakier. The wallapaper's peeling. Spiderwebs and an inch of dust coat everything. It looks like nobody's been here in ages, and the shadows are very dark and deep.
There's a chill in the air and a sense that something's watching you.

That, or be the victim of something truly occult.
[She snrks slightly. you're no one to talk, thistle, you turned into goddamn sand when you died]
I suspect it's just this place at work, then.
[but i'm going to stay away from you anyway]
no subject
Hopefully I'm not stuck this way.
[He thinks for a moment, leaning back on...nothing, in midair.]
...how do you possess someone?
no subject
I'm not about to tell you.
It requires more finesse and willpower than a mere amateur would possess.
[punny]
no subject
...Does it.
[SIZING HER UP]
no subject
I'm the last person you want to try that on, boy.
[your ghost couldn't even fit all the way in me]
no subject
I might as well find someone else, then. I don't want to let my death go to waste.
no subject
If you are truly dead, and this isn't merely a farce put on by this place, your time would be better spent figuring out why you're still here.
There are fates worse than death, and you've found one.
no subject
[He floats down a little closer to the ground.]
This isn't ideal, but I don't see how it's worse.
no subject
Even if it doesn't need it anymore... The mind still remembers hunger. Still remembers sleep. Still remembers chills.
And there is no way to satisfy the cravings of the flesh when you no longer have it.
The dead torment the living out of envy.
no subject
That's not good news.
He's staring down at the spike and looking distinctly unsettled.]
no subject
[She sighs and loses a BIT of her tension, but you're still GHOST SCUM]
There was a time I would've told you to find whoever did this and exact revenge to put yourself at rest.
When I was dead, I had always assumed getting vengeance would be the end of it.
But it wasn't.
no subject
[He sinks down more and more until he's actually sitting on the floor. Well, he looks like he is, at least.]
There's no point to revenge. It gets in the way.
no subject
That's easy to say when it isn't all you have.
[she sounds a HAIR defensive |<]
I don't know what else could bind a simple mortal soul to unlife. A violent unjust death usually does the trick.
no subject
[he starts messing with the spike again...at least he can wiggle it now]
Not much I can do about the death. I don't see how I didn't hear them coming, though.
no subject
Perhaps you're not the only supernatural creature about.
no subject
Given the ghosts and the cobwebs.
[He tugs at the spike again and
whoops
it pops out.]
...
no subject
[She raises an eyebrow. nice HOLE]
The best place to start for answers would, I assume, be to find the rest of you.
no subject
puts it back in.]
...true.
I'm not sure where my body is now. When I manifested it was gone.
no subject
Well, where were you murdered? I suspect a bloody trail would at least be a start.
no subject
...this way.
[He starts to drift down the hall, expecting her to follow.]
no subject
If there are any CONSPICUOUS BLOODY STREAKS around, she'll stop and kneel by them to gauge how fresh they are.]
no subject
...well. That answers one question.
no subject
[She starts following the blood trails.]
Whoever did this must've been strong enough to lug your carcass around. Big. Probably slow.
[She slides some of her knives out of her sleeves to arm herself as they follow the trail.]
no subject
[He's watching over his shoulder every so often, peering into dark halls.]

We've got some kind of large unhinged psychopath in our midst. Fantastic.
[as opposed to just the tiny knife-wielding psychos]
This works in our advantage. Such a creature is not apt to consider that he may be being hunted himself.
