ONGOING EVENT THEME OR WHATEVER
[When you wake up this morning, the mansion looks considerably... spookier.
The walls seem creakier. The wallapaper's peeling. Spiderwebs and an inch of dust coat everything. It looks like nobody's been here in ages, and the shadows are very dark and deep.
There's a chill in the air and a sense that something's watching you.

seems appropriate for their relationship
He's hovering about a foot above the floor with a spike shoved right through his heart.]

what
She bristles at first at the big stupid jerk who somehow conned her into letting him feed her, and then she notices the
floating.]
...?!
no subject
[He's remarkably sullen rather than freaked out at the fact that he's. yknow. impaled.]
no subject
She backtracks and tries to draw herself up as big as she can which isn't v big at all.]
...
Get back.
[She looks a lot more. Guarded and edgy than she did last time.]
no subject
[Normally he'd be a liiittle pleased that knife-spirit-lady is so clearly wary around him, but...normally he's also ALIVE.
He tugs a little at the spike, not looking particularly surprised that it won't budge.]
no subject
I know the dead far better than you, boy.
[She backtracks slightly, slowly.]
no subject
Not that I could do it like this.
[waves his hand through a lamp |( ]
no subject
You know who you're speaking to, right? Spirits don't do physical damage.
no subject
I don't even know how.
[He's clearly more than a little put-out with this.]
no subject
You're visible to me. You must have more power than you realize.
[well obviously all ghosts go by her rules right]
no subject
Visible as a cheap carnival attraction.
[He gives another tug at the spike.]
I can't even get this out.
no subject
Is that how you managed to off yourself?
[She's still giving him a wide berth.]
A spirit normally requires a host to so much as see the world.
no subject
[oh so THAT'S why he's such a grump about it]
...do we really.
no subject
That, or be the victim of something truly occult.
[She snrks slightly. you're no one to talk, thistle, you turned into goddamn sand when you died]
I suspect it's just this place at work, then.
[but i'm going to stay away from you anyway]
no subject
Hopefully I'm not stuck this way.
[He thinks for a moment, leaning back on...nothing, in midair.]
...how do you possess someone?
no subject
I'm not about to tell you.
It requires more finesse and willpower than a mere amateur would possess.
[punny]
no subject
...Does it.
[SIZING HER UP]
no subject
I'm the last person you want to try that on, boy.
[your ghost couldn't even fit all the way in me]
no subject
I might as well find someone else, then. I don't want to let my death go to waste.
no subject
If you are truly dead, and this isn't merely a farce put on by this place, your time would be better spent figuring out why you're still here.
There are fates worse than death, and you've found one.
no subject
[He floats down a little closer to the ground.]
This isn't ideal, but I don't see how it's worse.
no subject
Even if it doesn't need it anymore... The mind still remembers hunger. Still remembers sleep. Still remembers chills.
And there is no way to satisfy the cravings of the flesh when you no longer have it.
The dead torment the living out of envy.
no subject
That's not good news.
He's staring down at the spike and looking distinctly unsettled.]
no subject
[She sighs and loses a BIT of her tension, but you're still GHOST SCUM]
There was a time I would've told you to find whoever did this and exact revenge to put yourself at rest.
When I was dead, I had always assumed getting vengeance would be the end of it.
But it wasn't.
no subject
[He sinks down more and more until he's actually sitting on the floor. Well, he looks like he is, at least.]
There's no point to revenge. It gets in the way.
